Anomaly Details
Take a closer look at a single photo or video, with detected edges outlined and video playback controls.
The Anomaly Details screen shows one item you chose from Anomaly Detection. For a photo it applies edge detection once and displays the outlined result. For a video it reads the footage frame by frame, draws outlines on each frame as it plays, and gives you a play and pause control so you can work through the clip at your own pace.

The screen decides for itself which view to show, based on what you picked:

How the outlines are produced
The same analysis is used here as on the live camera screen:

Getting Here
- Open Anomaly Detection.
- Tap the three-dot button and choose Pick From Camera or Pick From Photo Library.
- Choose a photo or video. This screen opens automatically with your selection.
There is no way to open this screen on its own — it always follows a pick from Anomaly Detection, which is also why the back arrow always returns you there.
Review a Photo
- The picked photo appears with detected outlines drawn on top. Analysis runs once, as the screen opens.
- The outlined image is added to your detected-images collection, so it is there when you open Review on the previous screen.
- Pinch and study the result as you would any image.
- Tap the back arrow to return and pick something else.
Still photos have no playback controls — the Play / Pause button is hidden for photos. The analysis is not repeated while you look at the result.
Review a Video
- The video starts processing and playing as soon as the screen opens, with outlines drawn on each frame as it goes. Rotation recorded by the camera is corrected automatically, so portrait clips are shown the right way up.
- Tap Play / Pause to pause at a frame you want to study, and again to resume.
- When the clip reaches its end it resets to the start and the button returns to its paused state.
- Tap Play / Pause after the end to replay the clip from the beginning; the frames are processed again as it plays.
- Tap the back arrow to return.

Let the clip run through once so every frame has been processed, then replay it and use Play / Pause to stop on the moments that interest you.
Long or high-resolution videos take real time and memory to process, because every frame is analysed as it plays. If playback stutters or the device gets warm, trim the clip shorter before analysing it.
How This Connects
- Where the item comes from. Whatever you picked on Anomaly Detection — a photo taken on the spot, or a photo or video from your device library. Nothing is fetched from the server, so this screen works entirely offline.
- Where results go. Outlined results are added to the same detected-images collection that the live scan fills, reachable through Review on Anomaly Detection. For a photo the outlined image is added; for a video the first processed frame is added, so a long clip does not flood the list. Results stay on the device and are not uploaded to your organisation.
- Permissions are shared. Getting here needs either the camera grant or the photo-library grant, the same ones used by Scan to PDF and QR Code Scanner on the Tools screen and by Photo Drawing. See Permission Required.
- Keeping a finding. To keep and share something you spot, capture it separately and annotate it in Photo Drawing, which saves to your device library and can then be attached to an incident — see Incident Additional Tab — or sent in Chat.
- Offline and reconnect. All processing happens on the device, so signal makes no difference to anything on this screen.
Troubleshooting

| The video plays sideways | Rotation comes from the clip's own recorded orientation; re-record or rotate the clip in your photo app and pick it again |
