Downloading Data
A progress screen that prepares your agencies, icons and map data so the app is ready to use.
Why you are seeing this: you have just signed in, or something asked the app to refresh your organisation data. Before the dashboard can open, REDENES has to fetch the agencies you belong to, their templates, the icons the app draws with, and the map and reference data behind them. The circular ring fills as it works and a label tells you which step it is on. You do not need to do anything — when the ring completes, the app moves you to the dashboard on its own.

The two versions of this screen
Which labels you see depends on how you arrived:

A single Downloading label is not a stalled two-stage sync — it means you came from sign-in, where the agency list is already in hand and only the remaining data is needed.
What happens while the ring fills

What continues in the background afterwards
These start as the screen closes and keep running while you use the app:

Because these continue after the screen closes, some map layers, weather panels and translations may keep filling in for a few minutes after you reach the dashboard. That is expected, not a failure.
Getting Here
- Sign in, or do something that refreshes your organisation data — such as switching or adding an agency.
- This screen appears automatically and starts working.
- Watch the label and ring. When both complete, the dashboard opens.
You cannot open this screen yourself and there is no way to skip it — the app needs this data before the dashboard will work.
What to Expect
- The ring starts empty and the first label appears.
- Each completed stage advances the ring.
- Icons already on the device are skipped, so a repeat sync is much quicker than a first one.
- When everything the dashboard needs is ready, the screen closes by itself and the dashboard loads.
Keep the app in the foreground and connected until the screen finishes. Switching away or losing signal part-way means the sync has to be re-run, and you may reach the dashboard with icons or templates missing.
A first sign-in on a new device is the longest run, because nothing is cached and the offline map packs are large. Do it on Wi-Fi and on power where you can, rather than in the field on mobile data.
When Something Goes Wrong

The TRY AGAIN button on the timeout alert is greyed out for the first five seconds — see Session Timeout.
How This Connects
- Where the data comes from. Agencies, worksheet templates and your directory come from the server and are written into the app's local database. Icons, map tiles and language files are downloaded as files and cached on the device, which is what makes the app usable offline later.
- What updates it. This screen runs at sign-in and whenever your organisation data is refreshed. After that, individual screens refresh their own slices of data as you open them, so you will not normally see it again during a shift.
- Which other screens depend on it. The dashboard, Directory, Incidents, Map and Weather all read what is downloaded here. The weather it pre-fetches is for the places saved in Set Weather Location, and the offline map packs and layers are the ones behind Map Style Options and the reference map.
- Timeouts are shared behaviour. The alert you may see here is the same one described in Session Timeout, used across the app.
- Offline and reconnect. This screen is the one part of the app that genuinely needs a connection — without one, there is nothing to download and the sync cannot complete. Once it has run successfully, the cached agencies, templates, icons, map tiles and languages are what let you keep working offline. Changes you make offline are held on the device and synced when the connection returns.
Troubleshooting
