Streaming Channels
Pick which streaming channels show up in your Live Audio screen.
This screen fetches the list of streaming channels available to you and lets you choose which ones to keep. Each row shows the channel's name and the agency that provides it, with a checkmark on the ones you have selected. A search box filters the list by channel name, and your choices are saved when you leave the screen.

Overview
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Search field | Filters the list by channel name as you type. |
| Channel row | One channel, showing its name and the providing agency. |
| Checkmark | A filled checkmark means the channel is selected; an empty square means it is not. |
| Save button | Leaves the screen. |
| Back button | Leaves the screen, prompting first if you changed anything. |
Reading a channel row
| Element | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Channel name | The name of the streaming channel. This is what search matches against. |
| Agency name | Which agency provides the channel. |
| Filled checkmark | The channel is selected and will be available on your Live Audio screen. |
Getting Here
- Open the Audio feature and go to the Live Audio Streaming screen.
- Tap the three-dot button and choose the channel-management option.
- The screen opens and fetches the available channels from the server.
This list is fetched live, so the screen needs a connection to populate. Without one the list stays empty and there is nothing to select.
Choose Channels
- Browse the list, or type into the Search field to find a channel by name. Search ignores capital letters and matches any part of the name.
- Clear the search field to bring the whole list back.
- Tap a channel row to select it. Its checkmark fills in.
- Tap a selected row again to clear it.
- Your changes are tracked as you go, and searching does not lose them — a channel you checked stays checked when it comes back into the filtered list.
Keep the selection short. Every channel you keep becomes another card competing for space and attention on the Live Audio screen, so select the feeds you actually monitor and leave the rest out.
Save Your Changes
- Tap the back button when you are done.
- If you changed anything, the app asks "Channels Updated — Do you want to save changes?"
- Choose Save to keep the selection, or Cancel to leave without saving.
| What you choose | What happens |
|---|---|
| Save | Your previous saved list is replaced by the channels you have checked, stored on your device, and you return to the Live Audio screen. |
| Cancel | Nothing is saved and you return to the Live Audio screen with your old list intact. |
| Leave with no changes | You return straight away, with no prompt. |
Saving replaces your whole saved list rather than merging with it, so a channel you unchecked is genuinely removed.
Empty and Loading States
| Situation | What you see |
|---|---|
| Opening the screen | A loading indicator while the channel list is fetched. |
| No channels available | An empty list with just the search field and buttons. |
| A search with no matches | An empty list. Clear the field to bring the channels back. |
| Your session has expired | You are signed out and returned to the sign-in screen. |
| The fetch fails | A message describing the problem, and an empty list. |
How This Connects
- Where the list comes from. The available channels are fetched from the server each time you open this screen, which is why it is always current and why it cannot be used offline. Your existing selection is read from your device and used to pre-check the rows.
- Where your selection is stored. The channels you keep are saved on your device for your current agency. They are not part of your account settings, so this is a per-device list — selecting channels on your phone does not change your tablet.
- What it controls. Your saved list decides which streaming channels are available to Live Audio Streaming. Removing one here removes it from that screen.
- How it differs from channel selection. Select an Audio Channel works on the audio channels your agency publishes to your account, marks which ones you may transmit on, and syncs your choice to the server. This screen works on streaming feeds, is fetched live, and saves only to this device. Both lists feed the same console.
- Radio channels and incidents. An incident's Comms tab refers to the channel carrying that incident's traffic. Keeping that feed selected here — and the matching audio channel selected in Select an Audio Channel — is what makes the traffic reachable from this app.
- Offline behavior. The screen needs a connection to load. Once you have saved a list, the Live Audio screen uses the stored copy and does not need to come back here.
Troubleshooting
| If this happens | What to do |
|---|---|
| The list is empty | You may be offline, or no channels are published to you. Reconnect and reopen the screen. |
| A channel you expect is missing | Clear the search field first. If it is still missing, ask an administrator whether it is published to your account. |
| Your selection reverted | You chose Cancel at the save prompt. Reselect and choose Save. |
| You left without being asked to save | Nothing had changed, so there was nothing to save. |
| A channel did not appear on the Live Audio screen | Confirm it is checked here and saved, then leave and reopen the Live Audio screen to refresh it. |
| Your other device has a different list | This list is saved per device. Select the same channels there. |
| You were signed out on opening the screen | Your session expired. Sign in again and reopen the screen. |
