Contact Detail
Everything you need to reach one person: phone numbers, emails, addresses, codes, and more.
The Contact Detail screen shows the full record for a single contact. From the top of the screen down you get their name and identity fields, then a section for each kind of information saved about them. Every row is an action as well as a value: tap a number to call or text, tap an email to write, tap an address for directions, tap a Wi-Fi network for its password and a scannable code.
Overview
The name card
The card at the top of the screen holds the contact's identity. Only the fields that have something in them are shown.

Each section below the name card appears only when there is at least one entry in it.

Getting Here
- Open Home, then tap Directory.
- Open a group, or search for a person.
- Tap a row under Contacts.
You can also arrive here from an event's invitee list on Event Detail, and from the command screens when you tap a person assigned to a unit.
Calling or Texting a Contact
- Find the number you want in the Phone Number section.
- Tap the call button on that row. A sheet opens titled Select call option.
- Choose how to place the call:

- To send a text instead, tap the message button on the row. Your phone's messaging app opens with the number already filled in.
REDENES Phone needs microphone permission and a connection. If you decline the microphone prompt the call cannot be placed; grant it in your phone's settings and try again. Default Phone works whenever your device has normal cellular service, even if the app is offline.
Sending an Email
- Tap a row in the Email Address section.
- If Gmail is installed on the device, a new Gmail message opens with the address filled in.
- Otherwise your phone's built-in mail app opens.
If no mail account is set up at all, the app shows "Email Setup Required" with the message "To use this feature, please add an email account in your device's Settings > Mail > Accounts." Choose Settings to jump to your mail settings, or Cancel to stay put.
Opening an Address or Getting Directions
- Tap a row in the Address section to see the location on a map inside the app.
- Use the directions control on that row to hand the address to Google Maps for turn-by-turn driving directions.
If Google Maps is not installed, the app reports "GoogleMap app is not installed". Addresses can still be opened in a browser map instead, so you are never left without a route.
An address only produces useful directions when it has enough parts saved. A row with just a city will drop you in the middle of town. Add the street and ZIP on the Add a Contact screen for accurate navigation.
Viewing a Wi-Fi Network
Station and command-post networks are stored on the contact record so crews can get online without hunting for a password.
- Tap a row in the Wifi Network section.
- A popup shows the network name, the password, the security type and whether the network is hidden.
- Tap the show-password control to reveal or hide the password characters.
- Scan the code on the popup with another phone to join the network without typing anything.

Opening a Sub Contact
Sub contacts are the people attached to a main record — a spouse listed as an emergency contact, a supervisor, a second point of contact at a vendor.
- Tap a row in the Sub Contact section. Each row shows the person's name with their Type and Relationship beneath it.
- Their own detail screen opens, with the same phone, email, address, website, access code and note sections.
- Use the back control to return to the main contact.
The Options Menu
Tap the options control in the header for the actions available on this record. The menu is built from your permissions, so it is shorter for some accounts than others.

Exporting a Contact to Your Phone
- Open the options menu and choose Export Contact, or tap the add-to-phone button on the name card.
- Your phone's new-contact screen opens with everything already filled in.
- Save it to add the person to your personal address book.
Every labeled entry carries across: each phone number keeps its label, each email keeps its label, each address keeps its label, and websites are added as links.
Exporting copies the record to your own phone. From then on the two are separate — later changes in the Directory do not update the copy in your phone's address book.
Sharing a Contact
Sharing sends a contact record to someone outside the app by phone number or email, with an optional password.
- Open the options menu and choose Share.
- A panel opens showing a scannable code for the contact, built from their names, numbers, emails, addresses and websites.
- Fill in who you are sending it to:

- Confirm to send, or Cancel to close the panel.
If a contact cannot be turned into a shareable record the app reports "Failed to encode vCard." Check that the contact has at least a name saved before trying again.
How This Connects
This screen is the endpoint for most of the app's "reach this person" paths.
- Where the data comes from. Everything here is one contact record kept by your agency on the server and mirrored to your device. Add a Contact is what writes to it; this screen only reads it, apart from the actions above. Opening the screen also clears the unread marker for that contact.
- Phone and audio. Choosing REDENES Phone routes the call through the same service as the Phone Dialer, including the microphone permission it needs.
- Chat. The chat button on the Directory list starts a conversation with this person; the thread itself lives on Messages.
- Map. Tapping an address opens it on the in-app Map Location view, and the directions control uses the same navigation as Map Direction.
- Calendar. Tapping a name in an event's No Reply, Attending or Not Attending list on Event Detail brings you to this screen.
- Offline and reconnect. The record reads fine offline. Calling through your phone's dialer, texting and exporting to your address book all work offline; REDENES Phone, email through a web mail app, sharing and the Wi-Fi join code need a connection.
Troubleshooting
