Home Widgets
Pick which modules appear as home-screen widgets and shortcuts, grouped by app section.
The Home Widgets picker is a single shared chooser used for two jobs: selecting the modules that appear as widgets, and selecting the modules that appear as app-icon shortcuts. Modules are grouped under the app's five main sections so you can find them quickly, and the cap on how many you can pick depends on which row opened the picker.
Overview
Modules are grouped under headers matching the app's own sections, always in this order:

Only the modules your agency actually has are listed, so the picker reflects what you can reach in the app. A section with no modules simply shows an empty header.

Selection Modes
The picker behaves differently depending on how it was opened.

Both the Home Widgets row and the shortcut row open the picker in multi-select mode; only the limit differs.
Getting Here
- Open the Account tab.
- Open App Settings, then App Defaults.
- Tap Home Widgets to choose widgets, or the shortcut row to choose icon shortcuts.
Selecting Modules
- Browse the grouped list. Your existing selections are already marked when the picker opens.
- Tap a module to select it. Tap it again to deselect.
- Keep going until you have the set you want.
- Tap Done to apply.

When you hit the limit, the tap is simply rejected — nothing is swapped out for you. Deselect something first, then add the module you want.
Tapping a module you have already selected always deselects it, even when you are at the limit. That is how you make room.
Widgets Versus Shortcuts
Both use this picker, but they put your choice in different places and are worth thinking about separately.

Choose shortcuts for urgency and widgets for frequency. A shortcut is worth spending on something you need in seconds from a cold start; a widget is worth spending on something you tap twenty times a shift.
Planning Your Nine
With a hard cap of nine, it pays to choose deliberately rather than ticking everything in the first section.

Applying and Cancelling

Done does not save anything. Your selection is only written when you tap Save on App Defaults. Leaving App Defaults without saving discards it, and the widgets on your home screen do not change.
What Happens After You Save
Once you tap Save on App Defaults:

How This Connects
- Where the list comes from. The modules offered are your current agency's modules, read from the device and grouped by the section each one belongs to. If your agency adds or removes a module, the picker reflects it after your next sign-in.
- Where your choice is stored. In your own user settings, alongside theme, units and date format on App Defaults. Because those settings are held on the server too, your widget and shortcut choices follow you to another device when you sign in there.
- When it takes effect. On Save in App Defaults — not on Done here. The device widget is refreshed at that moment.
- Where widgets appear. In the widget row on the Home Tab, and in the REDENES widget on your device's own home screen.
- Where shortcuts appear. As entries when you long-press the REDENES app icon on your device home screen, giving you a direct jump into a module without opening the app first.
- Agency scope. The picker lists your current agency's modules, so pick your widgets while you are in the agency whose modules you actually want.
- Offline behavior. Fully usable offline — the module list is already on the device. Saving offline stores your choice and flags it to sync; the local widget still updates.
Troubleshooting
