General Settings

Control calendar syncing, weather displays, audio streaming behavior, and your default map for each agency.

General Settings holds the preferences that belong to an agency rather than to you personally: how your calendar syncs, which weather locations and fields you watch, whether audio keeps playing when you move around the app, and which map and layers you start with. An agency dropdown at the top decides which agency you are configuring, and nothing is stored until you save.

Every selector shows its current value, or None when nothing is chosen. Multiple selections are listed comma separated.

Getting Here

1. Open the Account tab.
2. Open App Settings.
3. Choose General Settings.

The header reads Org Settings when an administrator is editing another member's settings. In that case the agency dropdown is hidden, because the agency was already chosen.

Calendar Sync

Two independent switches control the two directions of sync.

1. Turn on either switch. You are asked for calendar permission the first time.
2. Tap Save. The sync runs in the background immediately after saving.
3. Turning a switch off and saving removes the events that sync created — it does not remove events you created yourself in either place.

caution

Sync only runs if calendar access is actually granted. If permission was denied, or granted as write-only, the switch can be on and nothing will sync — with no error on screen. Check your device's calendar permission for REDENES if events are not appearing.

Weather

1. Tap Weather Location to add or remove locations. Your first location is also shown as the selected location beneath.
2. Tap Weather Alerts to pick alert zones. Each zone you choose starts watching for alerts.
3. Tap Quick View and pick up to four fields. Choosing a fifth shows Maximum limit 4 fields and the fifth is not added.
4. Tap Detailed View and pick as many fields as you want.

The same ten fields are offered for both views:

Choosing a weather location also starts storing that location's weather data on your device, which is what lets the weather screen show something when you are offline.

Audio

Turning on Keep playing when app minimized automatically turns on Keep playing on module close as well, because background playback implies it. Turning the module-close switch off on its own does not affect the background switch.

The currently selected audio channel for this agency is shown beneath the two switches.

Maps

1. Tap Default Base Map and pick a style. The chosen style's name appears beside the row.
2. Tap Default Map Layers and pick one or more layers. Chosen names are listed comma separated, or None.

Switching Agencies and Saving

1. Tap the agency dropdown to pick a different agency. Each entry also shows that agency's unread notification count.
2. With unsaved changes, a prompt appears first: Settings Updated — "Do you want to save changes?" Choose Save to store them, or Cancel to stay put. The dropdown does not open until you deal with it.
3. With nothing unsaved, the dropdown opens and every section reloads for the agency you chose.
4. Tap Save at any time to store your changes without leaving.
5. Leaving with the back button prompts the same question, and choosing Cancel returns you to the agency you started in.

For an administrator editing someone else's settings, saving requires a connection. Only the calendar and audio switches are sent in that mode, and the app shows its "internet not available" message rather than storing anything offline.

How This Connects

• Where the data comes from. These settings live with your agency record on the device, loaded when you sign in and refreshed whenever agency settings update. That is why the screen opens instantly.
• When changes take effect. As soon as you tap Save. Calendar sync begins running in the background right away; weather, audio and map defaults apply the next time you open those screens.
• Calendar. Both switches feed Calendar. Turning a switch off removes what sync added, in the direction you turned off.
• Weather. Locations and fields drive Weather — Quick View fields appear in the compact view, Detailed View fields in Weather Details. Alert zones drive Weather Zones and produce the weather alert notifications you see in Notifications.
• Maps. Your base map and layers apply to the Reference Map and can be overridden there per session using Map Style Options. The same layer catalog supplies the alerting layers used by Locations on Notification Settings.
• Per agency, not per device. These are agency settings. App Defaults holds the preferences that are yours everywhere — theme, units, date format and widgets.
• Permissions. Calendar sync needs calendar access; weather locations benefit from location access. You can confirm what a device has granted from its detail card on Devices.
• Offline and reconnect. Fully usable offline for your own settings: changes are saved locally, flagged, and sent on your next connection. Weather data already downloaded for your chosen locations remains readable offline.

Troubleshooting

If this happens	What to do
A setting did not stick	You likely tapped Cancel on the "Do you want to save changes?" prompt. Make the change again and tap Save.
Calendar events are not syncing	The switch can be on while permission is denied. Grant calendar access for REDENES in your device's settings, then turn the switch off, save, turn it on and save again.
Turning off sync removed events you wanted	Only events that sync created are removed. Events you created directly are untouched — check the other calendar.
Maximum limit 4 fields when choosing Quick View	Quick View is capped at four. Remove one before adding another, or put the extra field in Detailed View.
Weather shows nothing	No locations are chosen. Tap Weather Location and add at least one, then save.
No weather alerts arrive	Add alert zones under Weather Alerts, and check the weather alert notification is not set to None on Notification Settings.
A stream stops when you leave its module	Turn on Keep playing on module close and save.
A stream stops when you background the app	Turn on Keep playing when app minimized, which also turns on the module-close switch.
The map opens with the wrong style or layers	Set Default Base Map and Default Map Layers and save; they apply the next time the map opens.
The agency dropdown will not open	You have unsaved changes. Deal with the prompt first.
Settings look wrong after switching agency	These are per-agency settings. Check the dropdown shows the agency you meant.
Changes made offline seem lost	They are stored on the device and flagged to sync. Reconnect and they are sent.
